Polish sausage, Sauerkraut and potatoes

Smoked Polish sausage with sauerkraut and potatoes in a brown sugar laced sauce is slow cooked to perfection.

This is one dish I get lots of request for because of the amazing sweet and savory flavors but I have to admit the best part is how simple it is. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 (14-ounce) cans sauerkraut, undrained
  • 6 potatoes, peeled and cut into large chunks
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pound Polish sausage, cut into chunks
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
