Slow Cooker Cherry Dump Cake

My slow cooker is one of my favorite appliances to work with in the kitchen. The ease of literally being able to set the time and forget about it (aka, letting the crockpot do the work) is really worth its weight in gold, especially when you’ve spent your energy on a hard day at work or with the kids. This Slow Cooker Cherry Dump Cake is amazing. Really, it only has 3 ingredients – ones you probably already have on hand – and you really just dump everything in the slow cooker and eat it up in a couple of hours. This cake isn’t too good to be true, just pull out the crockpot and eat up some cherry cake!


1 box yellow cake mix
42 ounces cherry pie filling (2 cans)
1/2 cup melted butter


Mix melted butter and cake mix in a bowl until well distributed. Grease the inside of your slow cooker. Spread the cherry pie filling on the bottom of your slow cooker. Crumble the batter mixture over the cherry filling. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours. Optionally, broil in the oven for about 3-5 minutes or until golden brown on top of cake.
