Ingredients
- 3 cups Self-Rising Flour
- 1-½ Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
- 8 slices Bacon (cooked Until Crispy, Then Chopped)
- 1-½ cup Gruyere Cheese, Shredded
- 1-½ cup Beer, Pilsner Or Pale Ale
- 4 Tablespoons Melted Butter
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9″ x 5″ loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, combine sugar and flour together.
3. Set aside 2 tablespoons each of bacon and the Gruyere to use for the topping. To the flour mixture, add the remaining bacon and Gruyere. Next, add the beer and 3 tablespoons of the melted butter. Mix until combined.
4. Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing out the top. Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of melted butter over the top. Sprinkle the reserved bacon and Gruyere evenly over the dough. Place in the oven and bake for 45 to 50 or minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Carefully remove the bread from the loaf pan and set on a cooling rack to cool.
