Texas Peanut Butter Sheet Cake

You’ll Need (for the cake):

2 cups of all-purpose flour.
2 cups of sugar.
½ tsp of baking soda.
1 tsp of salt.
1 cup of butter.
1 cup of water.
¼ cup of creamy peanut butter.
2 beaten eggs.
1 tsp of vanilla extract.
½ cup of buttermilk.

You’ll Need (for the icing):

½ cup of butter.
¼ cup of creamy peanut butter.
⅓ cups plus 1 tbsp of milk.
1 (16 oz) package of powdered sugar.
1 tsp of vanilla extract.

 

How to make it

1-Preheat the oven to 350° and grease a 15×10 jelly-roll pan.

2-In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt and baking soda.
3-In a saucepan melt together the butter, water and peanut butter over medium heat and bring to a boil.

4-Pour the butter mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.

5-In a separate bowl, mix together the eggs, vanilla and buttermilk then add to the batter.

6-Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 25 to 28 minutes.

7-To make the peanut butter icing, melt the butter, peanut butter and milk in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until well combined.

8-Spread the icing over the cake while it’s still warm and enjoy!
